With the arrival of spring, one can’t help but think of flowers and blossoms! In a city with a climate like ours, we can’t get ahead of ourselves in the garden! A greenhouse is a perfect sanctuary for us leading up to that May long weekend when we are finally ‘allowed’ to get our hands in the dirt! So I was very excited when this darling family agreed to my suggestion of having their shoot take place at Vale’s Greenhouse south of the city. Dad loves gardening, Grandma was going to join along and the weather was looking to be a fine day. It was rejuvenating to just be surrounded by the flowers, grasses and colour as we wandered through the greenhouses.
Vale’s Greenhouse is a gem you will find near the river in Black Diamond. One of the best part about Vale’s is that they grow all their top quality perennials, annuals and basket stuffer plants on site. That means you know that can work in our Alberta weather. The variety will blow your mind and the staff are exceptional in sharing their knowledge and giving their suggestions. Another special part for me is that my sweet mom used to work here before she became ill. So as I walk around the greenhouses and through the grounds, I always feel comfort in knowing this was a place she felt so happy to be in. When you visit, take a peek at the chairs that are just the right when you first walk through the gates. You’ll see a tribute to my mom.
Enjoy the pictures, plan a visit to Vale’s soon and get ready to do some planting soon!!!
